So at the risk of having my mum ring me everyday for the next week, I’m going to share with you a little secret….. I get depressed, there I’ve said it! Apparently 80% of the population do at some point. When I feel down, I don’t feel like doing anything, but today I made myself do nails, because I know that being creative also makes me happy. So when looking for a plate that appealed to me in my crappy mood, Moyou London Punk collection 04 jumped out at me. Maybe it was the skeleton sticking up its middle finger?!
On my middle finger, I’ve used my all time favourite polish OPI “Push and Shove” and stamped over it in black with that naughty skeleton…how rude! On the ring finger I’ve used a black leather effect polish and some seriously dangerous looking studs! The other two fingers are just a coat of black stamped with Essie “No Place Like Chrome” and a gorgeous skull /wallpaper like pattern. Thanks for looking and mum I feel better today okay. So to all you people that feel down sometimes, seriously doesn’t everyone, remember you are not alone. That doing something that you enjoy, often makes you feel better. Exercise is a great too….*note to self….do more exercise!
I thought I’d take a break from gory Halloween manis for today. Here I’ve used Savvy nail polish, on the pinky and index finger, in “Black Martini” which is a blackish polish loaded with silver glitter and the odd pieces of red in there too.
For the silver stamping I’ve used BBF plate 18 and the stud is from Born Pretty store, you can find them here. I like this, simple, elegant but at the same time a touch grungy.
I have used some goodies from Born pretty store today to make this mani. The middle two nails are painted with OPI “My Boyfriend Scales Walls” over that I sponged some greenish colour. The outer two nails are painted with Layla softouch effect “03”, I don’t see a colour name on this bottle anywhere, but it is a beautiful colour and finish.
Then I applied golden square studs and a couple of waterslide decals from Born pretty store. There decals are always good quality and easy to use. These designs came from a big sheet with lots of other images for Halloween. The wheel that I got has many studs to choose from in square and round, silver and gold. Use my code ABL91 to get 10% off you order for your nail art supplies.
There are a few manis that I’ve done in the past that I’ve wanted to revisit and improve on them. My first punk nails leave alot of room for improvement. I cared or knew little about cleaning up around the cuticles, filing a decent shape with a similar length on each nail and lightboxes.
I also wanted much better looking studs, tartan and zippers. The tartan is a nail wrap, which I just haven’t made friends with yet, they crinkle, they rip, they don’t sit flat, ugh. The studs and zipper decals came from Born Pretty store and the anarchy symbol I’ve painted on with a silver striping brush. The thumb is Barry M croc effects over silver, I think by accident I have found a way to turn this polish into Leather Effects….stay tuned!
Thanks for looking!
