Day 2 orange…

I know it’s already the 3rd, and I’m behind. The truth is I don’t have time for nail art, but I suppose this is why I’m trying to do this challenge, to just get on with it and do it…time permitting. I’m thinking the only way to vaguely keep up, is to combine the days I’ve missed into one. So today was going to be orange and yellow, but then orange worked out okay. It will be interesting when the prompts get harder and I’ll have to combine rainbow with a gradient. Or animal print and flowers or a watermarbled galaxy…..hey this could be fun combining the days!

Day 2 orange 3

I’ve stamped using Pueen plate 56 from the buffet collection (the bold design on the middle and pinky) and two plates from the Bundle Monster “Shangri-La” collection, BM-S107 and BM-S102. The polish I used is an orange I’ve been working on, as yet unnamed. Any ideas for a name? So I guess tomorrow is yellow and green day!

Lace stamping…

Hello there! This Sunday’s prompt in Adventures in Stamping is something which is totally not you. Well I don’t like brown too much, or gold or delicate designs. So I combined all three!

Lace stamping - Copy

For the brown polish I’ve used Sally Hansen “Bronze Ablaze”and the two white/gold nails are Layla “02” although you can’t see the gold sparkle too well in this polish. Over the brown nails I’ve stamped with a gold prototype I’m working on using a lace image from Messy Mansion plate 03 from The Bridal Nail collection. I’ve used the same image and stamped using Bronze Ablaze over the white/gold nails. Til next time.

Girly gothic grunge…

Hello out there, well I’ve been a somewhat slack blogger,  I swear the days do not have enough hours in them! Or maybe I am totally crap at managing my time, or both! So today  I have a simple stamping mani, that I actually had in my head for once. I’ve started with Color Club “Cool Breeze” as the base. Over that I’ve stamped very subtle stripes with Ulta 3 “Gold digger” using Messy Mansion plate MM06. Then I stamped in black the skeleton portrait from BM-612, and the ornate patterns are from The Bridal Nail 06 plate. Adding OPI Matte top coat and a couple of gold studs from Born Pretty store to finish it off.

Girly gothic 3

I’ve started a photograpy course…. can you tell? Photography has always been a struggle for me, so I know I can’t get any worse! Oh and if you’re looking for Greek pottery, you’re in the right place, its just been awhile 😉

Moody blues…

This week’s theme in AIS is to stamp over a blue base. On the pinky and index finger I have used Ulta 3 “Infamous” and stamped over it with Hit the Bottle stamping polish “Be-cider-self”( which is a pale yellow/green colour). I’ve stamped with Messy Mansion plate 01 from the Bridal Nail collection.

Stamping over blue

On the middle finger I’ve used a blue polish that I got ages ago from Born Pretty store, I think. Interestingly it says Crystal Sand on the side and is textured, this is probably the first textured polish I owned without even realizing it! On the ring finger I’ve used Maybelline Brocades “Beaming Blue”, which has gorgeous fine greeny gold sparkle in it. Think I forgot to top coat it though as it also looks a bit textured!

Soup-er…

Hello out there, I love soup! That is one of my favourite lines to explain why I like soup, because it is soup-er! I think Pop Art and Andy Warhol are pretty super too, and the soup can image on Moyou London plate 03 from the Rebel collection is probably the main reason why I bought this plate! So I’m glad to have an excuse to use it for the Sunday (yeah I know its Tuesday!) AIS stamping challenge, which is to stamp with three colours.

Here I’ve stamped with Hit the Bottle stamping polishes and made decals by filling in the blank space with a different colour. I’ve stamped with “Blue-tiful”, “Purple Reign”, “In the Limelight” and “Snowed In”. It’s late, I’m tired, back soon 🙂

Nude knitting…

Hello out there! Yes I’m a slack blogger, what with Xmas, family visits and work there has been little time left for nails. Now life is back to normal  and no, I’m not sitting here knitting in the nude! In my mind I wanted to create a fluffy white/beige jumper look. I started with a base of OPI “My Vampire Is Buff”, over that I sponged OPI “Berlin There Done That” using cling (saran) wrap method, to create a mottled look. You can see the base before stamping on the ring finger, where I have also applied a gold stud from Born Pretty store.

Nude knitting

Then I stamped using Messy Mansion plate MM40 and my own brand Hit the Bottle polish in “Everyday I’m Truffling”. A metallic chocolate brown colour. This look is so not me, its neutral, soft, delicate, but somehow I really like it! Maybe I’m getting soft in my old age! At this point I can only ship within Australia, but I am working on international shipping.

Ornate pink stamping..

I’m at a loss for a funky titled name for this post. I don’t know about you but I’m sick of Xmas manis!!!!!!! But then again I can’t say I like Xmas too much, I always have to work and its hectic. The roads are busy, the shops are busy, people go a little crazy. If you don’t have lots of family or friends you end up feeling lonely. When asked where my Xmas spirit is, I usually reply…”I drank it!”  Anyway onto to the nails…

Pink ornate 2

For these I stamped with my own pink/magenta (unnamed) polish over a black base using Moyou london plates 07 and 08 from the Fashionista collection. The fleur de lis 3-D nail “stud” is from Born Pretty I think. Stay sane til Xmas!

No nail art November?

Hello all, long time no see! Did you realise that we just celebrated “No nail art November”? Of course you didn’t because I just made that up! But I did go missing last November too due to a big hailstorm we had here. So perhaps November, nail art and me just don’t get on! Well this year I have spent nearly every spare minute working on a new project. I have created my own brand of nail polish called “Hit the Bottle polishes”.  I wanted to make vibrant, bright, fun colours that stamp over black. At the moment I can only ship within Australia, as I’ve only been open a week so it’s early days yet. If you are interested you can find my online store here….http://hitthebottlepolishes.bigcartel.com/  I hope to add some glitter jellies very soon. Anyway onto today’s nails, a few days ago it was my birthday, so to snap myself out of my nail art drought I had to do some birthday nails right? I also had to try a new Moyou plate, Fashionista 07, this image is so gorgeous stamped! ornate 2 So I went for something really quick and easy. On the pinky and index finger I have used OPI “My Favourite Ornament”, on the middle finger a leather effect polish from the brand Model’s Own. The base on the ring finger is OPI “Designer, De-Better” stamped over with my own brand black called “Blacked Out”. Thanks for looking, promise I’ll be back soon!

Elegant grunge…

I thought I’d take a break from gory Halloween manis for today. Here I’ve used Savvy nail polish, on the pinky and index finger, in “Black Martini” which is a blackish polish loaded with silver glitter and the odd pieces of red in there too.

BBF 18

For the silver stamping I’ve used BBF plate 18 and the stud is from Born Pretty store, you can find them here. I like this, simple, elegant but at the same time a touch grungy.

Reverse newsprint…

Something strange has happened…it feels weird not to be painting nails! I thought the challenge would leave me never wanting to paint nails again, but the opposite has happened! While thinking of ideas for black and white day, I remembered the kids joke, “What is black and white and red all over?” A newspaper! We mostly think of newsprint as being black letters on white paper, so I mixed it up a bit.

newsprint

At first I wanted to stamp red splatter over the words, but that didn’t work. So I just added some red with A England “Rose Bower” and some studs. The newsprint is stamped with Messy Mansion plate MM24.
