Day 2 orange…

When I think about orange, Greek pottery springs to mind. This design I’ve done twice before, once handpainted and once stamped. I’m using the stamping plates from Moyou London explorer collection, plate 18 that I didn’t stamp with last time.

I started with a base of Max Factor “Satsuma” and using the cling film technique added Essence “Happy” and Loreal 805 (a brown/gold colour). After stamping I applied a matte top coat.

The stamp I’ve used on the thumb, despite being on Suki plate 06, has always looked Greek to me. Back tomorrow with yellow.

Greek pottery….

Another quick post today. For the prompt “fun”, I am trying to imitate the look of Greek pottery on my nails. I have done this theme before and spent quite a while hand painting the figures. See this post.

Greek pottery stamping

I started with a base of orange, pale yellow and brown applied with cling film. Over that I stamped with various images from Moyou plate 18 from the Explorer collection and filled in bits here and there with black acrylic paint, so it would look more like pottery. I love this look!

Ancient Greece…

IMG_8860 - Copy

For once I knew straight away what I wanted to do for Ancient Greece, beautiful orange and black pottery. Inspired from this image of Olympians. I think one guy is about to compete in the long jump, but he also looks like he is raking leaves! Over a base of orange polish, I painted with black acrylic paint. In some areas where I had made a mistake I had to scratch the black paint off, so this probably was not a good choice of medium. Once it is dry you are stuck with it.
